Afrimat KZN Central (Pty) Ltd is inviting applications from unemployed South African youth who want to begin careers in engineering and technical trades. This structured learnership combines practical on‑the‑job training with classroom/theory modules, across various disciplines in the mining and construction sectors.
Positions are available for the following trades:

Diesel Mechanic

Electrical
-
Fitter
-
Boilermaker
The goal of the programme is to develop competent artisans by providing formal training, workplace exposure and mentorship from experienced professionals.

Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for the learnership you must:

Be currently unemployed

Submit a recent CV
-
Provide a certified copy of your ID

Provide a certified copy of your Grade 12 (Matric) certificate

Provide proof of residence

Be willing to undergo qualification verification, employment checks and criminal‐record screening

Be prepared to undergo a medical fitness test if selected for shortlisting
Key Duties & Learning Areas
As a learnership participant you will:

Assist with the inspection, maintenance and repair of diesel engines and mechanical systems
-
Learn to diagnose faults using diagnostic tools
-
Assist in installing, repairing and maintaining electrical systems and wiring
-
Learn to assemble, fit and repair mechanical components and machinery
-
Work with pumps, gearboxes, conveyors and valves
-
Assist in fabricating and assembling structural metal components
