Bakwena Platinum Corridor Concessionaire (Pty) Ltd (Bakwena) is dedicated to the construction, management, upgrading, and maintenance of the N1 and N4 highways – 2 of the most important transport corridors in South Africa, with a combined length of over 385 kilometres.
These 2 major roads connect Tshwane to Bela-Bela in the north, and stretch westward along the N4 through Rustenburg and Zeerust to the Botswana border.
Expenses Covered by Bursary
Undergraduate studies in any field are eligible.
Preference is given to students who reside within approximately 6 km of the Bakwena N1/N4 route.
The bursary provides partial tuition funding of up to R35,000 per academic year, paid directly to the tertiary institution.
It is awarded for one academic year and may be renewable subject to academic performance and availability of funds.
Requirements
To qualify, you must meet all of the following:

Be a South African citizen.

Be registered for an undergraduate degree at a recognised South African university.

Be entering your second year or higher of study for the year 2026.

Have achieved a minimum overall average of 60% at university.

Preferably reside within ~6 km of the Bakwena N1/N4 corridor (Tshwane → Bela‑Bela or Tshwane → Rustenburg/Zeerust toward the Botswana border).
