About the Programme
UNISA is inviting unemployed South African graduates to apply for its 12‑month internship programme for 2026. The opportunity is aimed at individuals who have completed a qualification with an equivalent of NQF Level 6 or higher and who have no formal work experience in the field of application. Applicants must be UNISA graduates and must not have previously been appointed on an internship with UNISA or another organisation.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, you must:

Be a South African citizen.

Be a graduate of UNISA (or about to graduate) with a qualification equivalent to NQF Level 6 or higher.

Have no prior formal work experience in the field you are applying for.

Be 35 years old or younger (unless otherwise stated).

Correctly indicate your UNISA student number and the reference number of the position you are applying for.
What You’ll Do & Where
Internship opportunities are available across various departments, including but not limited to:

Student Administration and related support services.

Information Technology / Informatics.

Facilities Management and Maintenance.

Arts and Multimedia.
Locations include UNISA campuses/regions in Gauteng (e.g., Johannesburg, Vaal, Sunnyside), and possibly other regions, depending on the specific role.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

A completed Diploma, Bachelor’s, or Honours degree from UNISA in the relevant field for the position.

In some roles, specific study fields are required (e.g., IT, Business Management, Office Administration, Electrical Engineering).
Key Competencies & Behavioural Traits:

Good computer skills (especially Microsoft Office 365 and internet usage).

Strong written and verbal communication and telephone etiquette.

Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work under supervision.
